greg filkins is the energizer bunny of dft; he keeps the place running. as post-production engineer, it's greg's job to make sure that dft is operational. greg has worked in support in some capacity throughout his career in the entertainment industry-which started in the 90-thanks to his expertise in troubleshooting, repair, and infrastructure design. despite the industry and technology changing every day, greg continues to evolve and survive through a shifty environment. his masterpiece at dft is the restructuring of the machine room. over a christmas break, greg gutted the entire machine and reassembled it. "i just took everything out, ripped all the wire out. we had files and wires and pulling out of the walls and pulling out of cable trays and pulling and all kinds of old gear that we weren't using anymore that i removed." and by the time everyone returned to business as usual after new year's the work was done.
