the drop @ dft returns october 3rd!
the drop is returning after a year-long hiatus! six seasons, 44 episodes, more than 32,000 downloads, 150k plus streams, reaching 50 countries and a wide spectrum of listeners was far more than any of us could have imagined when we dreamed up “a podcast from the post house that is anything but ordinary.”
part ken burns documentary, part comedians in cars getting coffee, the drop podcast continues unpacking and contextualizing parts of our industry that are largely unknown to most (even inside our own community), and offering behind the scenes looks at some of our shows, and your overall favorite shows and films. season 7 welcomes new and previous guests to the famous dft red table to talk taboos!
starting with the use of, opportunities for, and hesitations with ai in vfx, we open with the hottest of topics, and strongly encourage that some of these episodes be watched in order to fully understand some of the tools being discussed. mattes or no mattes and restoration & film are also strongly encouraged to be viewed over just listening.
with education as a founding principal of dft, this season also serves as the introduction to our new program, dft university. we will continue to add to dftalks when our host, nancy jundi, interviews guest, but also introduce dftx, a series of podcasts hosted by other members of our team to help teach “the dft way”. dft university will be packed with practical tutorials and downloads to help everyone achieve faster, better, and often times cheaper means to watching their project come to life.
class starts october 3rd! make sure you are following us on our socials and are subscribed to the drop at dft on your favorite podcasting platform.
