paneling and podcasting at sxsw 2022!

DigitalFilm Tree (DFT) is proud to announce that DFT COO Nancy Jundi will be moderating two Featured Panels at the 2022 SXSW Conference & Festival.

The first will be on Sunday, March 13th at 11:30 AM CST in Ballroom EF of the Austin Convention Center, titled “Bringing The Umbrella Academy to Life,” in which Jundi will discuss the pre/post-production work that goes into the popular Netflix series, which is set to launch its third season later this year. Jundi will hold court with Umbrella Academy writer, showrunner, and executive producer Steve Blackman, director and executive producer Jeff King, and producer and senior VFX supervisor Everett Burrell, with DFT’s senior VFX artist Carlo Vega and Previs producer Andrea Aniceto-Chavez joining in to discuss their work on the series.

The second panel will kick off on Monday, March 14th at the austin convention center in ballroom ef, titled “Ted Lasso Strikes Back!” There, Jundi will join writers, producers, and stars of Ted Lasso Brendan Hunt, Brett Goldstein, supervising producer Kip Kroeger, and editor Melissa McCoy as they explore the Peabody-winning Apple TV+ hit that has broken records as the most Emmy-nominated freshman comedy in tv history (and for which DFT also provides previs and VFX work).

Our season of The Drop live from Austin is now available! “Bringing The Umbrella Academy to Life,” Lizzo’s Keynote (and launch of “Watch Out for the Big Grrrls”), “Ted Lasso Strikes Back” AND our wrap up of the whirlwind experience is ready to binge!

Additionally, the Jundi-hosted post-production podcast, The Drop @ DFT, will be partnering with  American Cinema Editors to launch its fourth season from the heart of SXSW. The podcast will feature interviews from the festival with filmmakers and creatives, focusing on the “below-the-line” work that makes TV shows and films come together. Such a vantage will not be unfamiliar to Drop viewers and listeners, who last year enjoyed a season-long look at the behind-the-scenes making of Ted Lasso’s second season.

DFT and ACE will see you love from Austin!
