innovative ucla student and budding filmmaker stormy gorence got her job as a floater/intern for dft the old fashioned way: nancy jundi chatted up her mother-an employee at the studio city barnes and noble-one day. “it was very random,” stormy says. random indeed. though, coincidentally, stormy was familiar with the company from the drop podcast. stormy, who hopes to direct and produce her own films, joined the company at a “pretty volatile time:” season three of ted lasso was wrapping up, and stormy became a part of the illustrious team responsible for planning and executing the legendary wrap party (in late 2023,) she also helped with the mean girls holiday party. “i realized that i liked the chaos and i liked problem solving,” she says. stormy wants to learn everything she can about the entertainment industry through her experience at dft. “there's a lot of producers that are in it for money, and i didn't want to be that,” she says. “if i'm going to do this, i want to have a holistic view of the film industry from pre to post.”
