new article highlights dft’s digital workflows on ncis:la!

A recent article by David Alexander Willis in Sound & Picture (a workflow-centric magazine that covers industry gear and tech as well as cinematography, picture editing, sound, and visual effects) highlighted the unique digital video workflows of the long-running CBS procedural NCIS: Los Angeles, and how DigitalFilm Tree was integral in helping to craft and develop them.

For anyone curious about the nuts-and-bolts process of how post workflows are implemented on a large-scale television production, and how those workflows must constantly evolve, it’s an incredibly in-depth piece that covers everything from daily production workflows to the many varied techniques that DFT brings to bear in the editorial, online, and VFX departments.

“Ramy Katrib and everyone at DFT have always met my ‘Gold Standard’ of care for post. They have never let us down or exposed us to the wrath of the unforgiving television gods. I feel the quality of the work we have delivered is first class and that is due not only to an elegant workflow, but because they care about quality and they enjoy pushing the envelope as much as we do.”
